Long Time Parker City Councilman and Police Chief, Will Oost has passed away

Long Serving Parker Councilman and Police Chief Willard (Will) Linzy Oost has passed away due to complications of Covid-19

Oost, served first as the City of Parkers Police Chief for 12 years. He then served as a City Councilman for 12 more years. This was all after a serving more than 23 years in the United States Air Force, serving in Vietnam. According to his obituary, Will was a longtime member of the Parker Lodge # 142 F & AM, Shaddai Shrine Temple, lifetime member of AMVETS of Callaway, and a member of Parker VFW. He was also commissioned a Kentucky Colonel by the Governor of the Commonwealth of Kentucky. Will also was a longtime member of the Parker United Methodist Church where he volunteered and served in many positions.

He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Mary J. Oost; sons, Steven L. Oost and Gary W. Oost and wife Susan (Pitts) Oost, all of Panama City; his daughter, Kathy A.  Oost of Nashville, TN; and a sister, Mildred (Oost) Miller of Owensboro, KY.

The family has requested contributions may be made to the Parker United Methodist Church in Will’s memory.
