Local businessman and community leader, William (Will) Cramer was appointed by a 5-0 (unanimous) vote to the Northwest Florida Beaches International Airport Authority by the Bay County Commission on Tuesday. Cramer and his family own Bill Cramer Chevrolet, Buick and GMC in Panama City. He is the immediate Past President of the Board of Directors of the Bay County Chamber of Commerce. He served as the Economic Recovery lead for the Long Term Recovery Task Force for Bay County following Hurricane Michael. In addition, Will also serves as the secretary of the Bay Economic Development alliance. “In these roles, I’ve come to see what a truly unique and valuable asset we have in our airport, the first of it’s kind built since 9/11, with enormous potential for both its own growth and for the economically powerful and diverse opportunities it can bring to our community and its residents. It would be my honor to be of assistance in guiding the future of the airport as we rebound from the current pandemic and grow into the future.” He said in his application to the Bay County Commission. Cramer has also served on the boards of the United Way of Northwest Florida, the Boys and Girls Clubs of Bay County, and numerous other charity and civic organizations across the community. In a call with PanhandlePolitics.com Cramer said, “My grandfather (Tommy Thomas) said, we must all pay our Civic Rent. It is an honor to be chosen to serve our community.”
